Note Al Magnus:
This kit was built basically straight from the box with a few minor modifications:
1. Two loops were added to the fore and aft portions of the upper hull. Reference pictures of other Type XXVII u-boats show them. ICM should really
have included them as part of the kit.
2. Extra triggers were added to the torpedoes. The kit only supplies two and from what I can tell there should actually be four.
3. A clear observation dome was added to the hatch on the conning tower. The ICM kit has the observation dome molded opaque in the kit's light grey
plastic.
I have found one picture of this particular u-boat, white 22, and it appears that ICM has missed a second row of water escape outlets on the sail that should be located above the row of outlets located just above the hull. I built this kit as a diversion from my regular modelling and I really didn't feel the urge to add them so they kits parts were not modified to make this correction.

This model BTR-152S (ICM) is built in 2008. He upgraded the model in 2011 with new wheels (ZiL-157K/BTR-152 wheels (ICM) from ARMORY). Old version - blue wallpaper, new version - white wallpaper.-- Tomas
The staff variant of the BTR-152 S (Russian: shtabnoj = staff), in the NVA the vehicle was called SPW-152 N (N = news) and in the 1960s and 70s Years in the headquarters of the regiments and divisions. In the NVA, the BTR-152 S / N usually had a "cargo trailer for special bodies EGF 1.0 "(Scratchbuilt) with petrol generator AB- 2-0 (this is from the set" Dieselgenerator ESD-20 "by AlexMinituren 72A96). This generator was needed to supply the extensive VHF and KW radios in the vehicle with energy and to charge batteries. The EGF 1.0 could alternatively with different modules can be loaded: electrical unit, water tank, field kitchen etc... (Udo Bauer

The SPW-152K were used in the medical battalions of the motorized rifle and tank divisions of the NVA, with some of the vehicles the door at the rear
was cut out wider. and a frame for the transport of the wounded on stretchers installed. I chose such a variant as a model. ICM did not design the roof
of the BTR-152K correctly, the variant 152K has three skylights. I added other details such as the track bridges (at the same time the water tank for
the deactivation system) over the wheel cutouts, as well as the tools

BTR-152 with MLG-60 (mine laying device-60). The device was in the inventory of the NVA in the 1960s and 1970s. It was able to lay open or hidden tank mines (TM-46, TM-57, BTmiBA 3) at a distance of 4 or 6 meters. The laying speed was 3 - 5 km / h covered laying, or up to 8 km / h open laying. The BTR had 2 mine cabinets of 50 mines each. The MLG-60, mine cabinets and mines were scratched, the BTR from ICM (72531) was adapted to the device. I will build the team for the showcase in the "open installation" variant. This means that the mine plow and the feeder are folded up (feeder smoothes the ground again) - Udo Bauer

I have built the PR-15 transport and loading vehicle for the SOPKA S-2 coastal defense system. I used the ZIL-157 from ICM (72541) and the KS-1 / KRM-1 (72178) from A-Modell. As with the SOPKA S-2 launch ramp, but here with the wings folded (transport position). The trailer was driven backwards onto the ramp, the booster was attached to the rocket and the rocket was transferred from the transport rail to the launch rail using a winch. - Udo Bauer
