Built models by Ilias Sardelis - SU-100 conversion into SU-D15 and SU-D25
I chose the SU-100 for 2 conversions . One of them is the SU-D25 (otherwise known as SU-122P) with the "long" 122mm gun and the other is the SU-D15 with the 152mm howitzer.
Both were prototypes and although several were built they never saw action as they were rejected by the Red Army.
1. The guns were too powerful for the T-34 hull and cracks began to appear
2. Interior space was very cramped because of the huge gun breeches
3. Due to lack of space only limited ammunition could be carried
Instead the guns were fitted to the IS-2 tank hull which was a much better platform creating the ISU-122 and ISU-152 assault guns. Conversion was pretty simple as I replaced the kit gun with two metal barrels
from RBModel and I just added decals. - Note Ilias Sardelis
